STREAM
York Academy & College’s mandatory focus on Sciences, Technology, Engineering, Robotics, Architecture and Mathematics subjects together not only because the skills and knowledge in each discipline are essential for student success but also because these fields are deeply intertwined in the real world and in how our students will learn most effectively as “Multi-Talented and Multiple Intelligence Renaissance Students”. York Academy & College’s mandatory crucial adaptation and implementation of STREAM education within its curriculum focuses on:
- A blended learning environment that demonstrates and shows students how scientific methods can and will be applied to everyday life, at the same time teach students computational thinking and focuses on the real world applications of problem solving. York Academy & College STREAM education is introduced to Junior Kindergarten to Grade 12 students with a strong emphasis on bridging in-school and out-of-school STREAM learning opportunities.
- Encompassing the process of critical thinking, analysis, and collaboration in which our students will integrate the process and concepts in real world contexts of sciences, technology, engineering, and mathematics to advance and interconnect multiple and transferable leaning tools while fostering skills and competencies for performing arts, languages and communication, sports and athletics, personal best, environment, cultural and social understandings.
- Driving our students’ curiosity and interest for “Yesterday’s Knowledge”, “Today’s Advancement”, and “Tomorrow’s Innovation” at their fingertips as necessary interconnectivity of everyday life while crafting their interest to become “Student-scientists”
- Allowing and encouraging new discoveries and their incorporation into our overall educational mix as we passionately to apply cutting-edge integrative technologies across all divisions of our learning infrastructure in order to meet the emerging demands of the 21st Century students and society.
